Description
These are Extreme Cold Vapor Barrier Boots (Type I & II), however, they are commonly nicknamed, “Bunny Boots” or “Micky Mouse Boots.” This nickname was due to the fact that because of its bulbous design, it caused the wearer’s feet to appear disproportionately large like Bug’s Bunny. These heavy, solid rubber boots are used in extreme cold weather in degrees between -20F to -60F. They were originally developed for use during the Korean War for military cold weather expeditions.
These boots feature a valve on the side of each boot that is used to depressurize the boot for flight, as these boots are pressurized as an additional form of insulation in cold weather environments.
